So Much for the "Culture of Life"

My brother is experiencing some undue stress right now. He got turned down for disability benefits. You all may think, "oh, it's just a brain tumor." Wrong. He is not normal. He can barely walk - he has limited mobility in his right leg. He can barely open his right hand, and flexing his fingers is a chore. He cannot lift heavy objects because his right arm is not as strong nor as functional as the left. Who in their right mind doesn't consider that being disabled? What does he have to do, have a limb amputated? Is he not poor enough? Do you think he's rolling in the cash by working for a supermarket? How absolutely ridiculous. And now, because of the financial worries, he's having small seizures due to the onset of stress. Fortunately, the tumor hasn't started regrowing, not in any way that is visible - yet. (As an aside, he's started his chemotherapy this week. Hopefully it will kill the tumor.) Our family is now rallying together to help with the finances. I am sending down some money every month to help out, and I know of a couple of uncles that are going to send a little, too. It's not like we are rich or have much to spare - but God blessed us with what little leftovers and we are using it. Thanks for cutting Medicare and Medicaid, you hypocritical Republicans. So much for your "culture of life." I've never really been passionate about politics, but after the events of the past two weeks, I have to say that I absolutely cannot wait for these four years to be over. Change is coming.
