Random Thoughts
Cheney v. Edwards, last night - nice sparring. Cheney is competent but corrupt. He talks a good game. Edwards - competent and a bit slick. He performed well. Closer to a draw, but my biases take me toward Edwards. And where the hell did some of those facts those two spewed come from? If you aren't watching Wife Swap, you are missing out on some really interesting stuff. Tonight, it's a traditional-southerner/treehugger swap. It's incredible. Where do they find all these women that don't work and do absolutely nothing around the house? At least last week's non-working woman was an heiress. Incredible... I am at a loss for words at this experiment, and I wonder if either side will learn anything from it. Why can't there be more people that choose uncontested divorces? We had a hearing for one yesterday, and it was so incredibly easy. And cheaper. Too bad more people can't be mature adults about ending their relationships. Spite is just too easy. But then, that's it, isn't it? It's easier to just be spiteful than to be bigger than your basest elements. Emotional and volitional laziness can be costly, and not just financially. Don't sleep with your coworkers, especially if you are in their food chain. You are just asking for trouble. Mom always said that when you lie with dogs, you rise with fleas. Some fleas will do grave damage. Don't lie with the coworkers! Seriously. It's just like sleeping with your neighbors. You just don't do it! And no, I didn't learn that the hard way. I'm just sayin'. Well, the neighbor thing was years ago, but I like to forget about that on a conscious level. ;) Needless to say, I won't do that twice. He'd have to be pretty darned special before breaking that general rule again. So I won't say never...
