On the Fritz
So I met with the personal trainer after work. It was interesting - I learned just how crappy my form is in doing some of the most basic movements. I also learned that my eating habits (timing, not necessarily substance) are crappy. I need to eat more frequently during the day so that my metabolism doesn't slow down too much. My body is likely hoarding food because it doesn't think it's going to get anything for a while. It's too bad that personal training is just too much of an expensive luxury. At this club, anyway. I didn't really have the desire to use a personal trainer at first, but I can definitely see the usefulness of one. But I don't have hundreds of dollars to plunk down for *five* sessions. I just can't. I have a general idea of what I'd like to do, and will try to take what advice I could glean from him today and run with it. Maybe one day... :) I do like him, and wish that it wasn't so onerously expensive. I mean, shit, it's not like he's pocketing the money, or even a decent share of it. But whatever. Deposition prep went well today, though I was feeling like I was about to go postal at one point. This one employee of the client almost stood us up again! But thankfully he remembered and showed up, albeit late. His session went well. We are on track, I think, for winning this thing once it gets to trial. Boo-f'in-yaaa. The one bad thing? I missed Lost. Aaaugh!! I totally forgot about it. I didn't get home until after 9. After 10, really - on the spur of the moment, I decided to go grocery shopping. I wasn't sure what was in the house for food, so I picked up some stuff - whitefish fillets, veggies, eggs, yogurt, fruit, yadda yadda. I came home and cooked a bit; there is enough for tomorrow. My roomie had made these awesome black beans, and I had some of the whitefish with the beans, as well as some zucchini and carrots. Yummy. Just too bad that I had to eat it so late! Gotta make a change with the eating habits, in a big way. This weekend, I am hoping to hit up the DMV and get my car registration taken care of. I also want to get lost a little in the city. It'll be my first full weekend here since moving back to the area, and I want to enjoy it. But now I need some shut-eye. Peace, all.

As big as I am, I have never used a trainer - at this point it scares me to do so because I know he will say, "Dude your form blows!" Eating is the Secret Sauce on the fitness Big Mac - speaking of which, I am starving.
Enjoy your first full autumn weekend!

He'd say that, true... but it's an expression of love. Or contractual duty. Either way, it's designed to help you work the right muscles. And I'm down with that.... just can't afford it.
$6.5k for a "100-pack" (a year's worth). Wow, eh? A 5-pack was $445 or something like that.
I will try to enjoy this weekend but I don't think I will be able to, for reasons blogged about.

Hi Sethro,
We're working on getting a DVR. In the meanwhile, I have ensured that my VCR is set to come on every Wednesday at 8:59 pm!
