Progress
I cancelled my internet connection for the apartment. And I joined a gym! There is a NY Sports Club right outside my office, across the street. My body is whispering to me "No excuse, ma'am!!" and so I must heed it. They had a special - join today on their anniversary, and the $129 initial fee was a big GOOSE EGG. Plus I got a neat backpack filled with goodies - earphones, a little towel, a water bottle... shweet. Boo-yaa! Even though I am fairly svelte, I am heavier than I look and I don't like the way I feel. Oh, that I could turn the clock back 5 or 6 years and have my six pack back! And 5-10 less pounds. ;) The only advantage to the indolent life is that I can actually have a bosom. The first time I shaped up, I (sadly) dropped a cup size down to an A cup - as if I needed to do that!! I'm not big as is, but did the fat really need to disappear from there?! Time and lethargy has helped get that back. But anyway... On the little information card that I had to fill out, it asked why I was joining. I wrote down "phys/mental wellness" - physical and mental wellness. The guy who gave me the tour and processed the application said that that was the best answer he'd seen on an application yet. Truly, my mind is not quite all it can be. I feel soft in the middle, sluggish - my core, my center, is not as strong as it can be. And the physical is affecting the mental. So, for my own peace of mind, I joined. I have a gym right across from me, and one by the train station in my town - less than 2 miles from me. Plus, my health insurance will refund me $200 if I go to the gym on the average of 1x/week. There are no excuses anymore for not making myself healthier and happier. Here's to wellness...

You used "boo-ya" and "indolent" in the same post.

Keep going. It is so worth it. Even if you feel good. I survived and healed quickly from a somewhat dangerous situation - all because I wa otherwise healthy and inshape. There is something to be said about preventive maintenance. Plus you might meet a hot guy!

I'm using the wrong health insurance! $200 refund for going to the gym just once a week?!

Hiya~
Even on this tour, I try to do some mind/body sweating everyday. The facilities can be horrible, but dang do I feel better at the end.
I miss my DC gym, tho. That place kicked booty. Booya.

I'll think of you as I am drinking a beer, Siryn.

Thanks, 66. I'll be thinking of you once I get my six pack back. ;)

AUA, I pay my gym membership but I will get a little refund if I go 30 times in 6 months. That averages out to a little more than 1x a week. Nuts! But so good. I really have no excuse.

Hi Playful!
I'm glad you are still getting to work out on the road. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, so ... imagine how fond your gym will be of you when you get back. :)

$200 for an average of 1x per week?? There's your boo-yah, Girl! That's effing sweet! I love NYSC, but WSC has just become a meat/meet market, at least when I went there a few years back.
When I am in top shape (which is NOT right now), I also have no boobs. But, then I can get away with all those fun tops that look much better w/out bras/bra straps. I hope I get my motivation back sometime soon so that I can wear my cute stuff next summer!
