Survive This!

Yay, it's fall and Survivor is back on TV. I have a reason to turn on my television again. Especially Brady Finta. OMG. It is sooooo sad that he's engaged, because damn, he is FINE! Majorly droolworthy. Too bad he won't win the million, I'm calling that one right now. Also, I can't say enough about The Apprentice. Hot damn, that was some excellent TV tonight. Boardroom shocker! It was great drama, and if you are too snooty to watch reality TV at all... shame on you. Learn to be more discerning. It's not all bad, and some of it is really compelling stuff. I don't know about The Benefactor but we'll see. I'm such a reality TV whore, right? Not really. I hate Big Brother and wouldn't sneeze on Fear Factor. And I'm dropping The Bachelor. It's a vapid load of crap - guys chasing after what is largely fame and/or plastic doll women. I will watch The Bachelorette, though. The women have been much better at choosing real relationships, and that's worth watching. Plus there is more eye candy for me to watch :) So tonight we had a soccer game... er, we were supposed to. The other team didn't show up! We are undefeated thanks to forfeit. :P So we scrimmaged against ourselves for about an hour. That was good, working up a sweat. I've been drinking more water (and peeing like a racehorse!) and sweating more. This is good stuff. I needed this. I just really need to work on getting my diet in line and making my own lunch because the expensive lunch thing is just burning through money. I will have to get back to cooking on Sundays. My biking prospects are also looking up. I posted an ad on CL under activity partners looking for a new partner. I got a handful of responses so far, mostly men. That's ok, because I just want to ride. I don't care about dating them, but if something happened, I wouldn't mind it. The point is just to enhance my life - tone up my body, and enjoy the great resources that this area has to offer. A relationship is just a bonus. I figure that it's mostly men because men tend to be more sports-oriented and outdoorsy, and biking is a great fit into both those categories. And for some reason, a lot of the single guys in this area are very outdoorsy! Go figure. Anyway... So I've lined up a couple of rides this weekend, on both Saturday and Sunday morning. I'll be riding the Mount Vernon Trail (or part of it) from Arlington down to Mount Vernon with two different guys. It should be fun! I also have some potential rides next week, and a definite Saturday riding partner. I have not described myself in the ad other than my age and the fact that it's been a loooonnnnnng time since I touched a bike. No one could tell if I was male or female until they wrote me. So I think these people truly are just looking for the same thing as me - companionship in an activity they like, not just to mack on someone. And the purest of intentions makes a great base for starting out a real friendship. I am enjoying having an active lifestyle. Granted, it's not a huge a motivator to get out of bed at crazy hours like 5 or 6am - I like my sleep, thank you very much! I will just schedule my activities around my sleep and lifestyle. I'm a night person, and the only thing that will break that is having a family or a partner who is a morning person. But it's good, because it will help me get in shape for Survivor. ;) I am serious about applying. I think I'm a great candidate, and I could be a good villain if I tried! I am my own best weapon, and in that game of human chess, I think I could be very effective. I just have to not get greedy. :) I also need to work on my swimming. Anyway, Survivor, here I come!
