And while I'm still insomniac... My court date was cancelled. The case got transferred to Staten Island, and that court hasn't put out any notices for hearings just yet. But, the big case I was working on with one of the partners has a hearing later this week, and I'm there because he can't be - he has to go to trial starting tomorrow. Boo-yaa! It's not a solo appearance, as I will be there with more senior counsel, but hey... it's cool nonetheless. That case is basically my baby anyway, as I have been the one with the most comprehensive knowledge of the file. The defendants hate us, think we're trying to manipulate our way through the case. Not so much, really - they are just bitching because they don't want to indemnify us. Only one is in serious risk, if you ask me, of having to tap into their excess insurance policy. We'll see how it shakes out.
