Quiet
I so love quiet weekends. It helps restore the sense of balance I find missing at times. Friday night I went out after work with some co-workers for drink at the bar downstairs. I felt like I was on a different planet - no Yuengling, and they hadn't even heard of it? WTF? And I couldn't get a mojito? Saturday, I just rode my bike a bit and enjoyed one of the last warm days of the fall. I found the local bike shop and they were very nice. I also bought a new light for my bike and a better mirror. This turned out to be very handy, since it was friggin' dark by the time I got out of that virtual candy shop. I had no choice but to ride back. A little scary, but I knew I was doing well when the cars could see me and gave me a wide berth. Thanks a lot, drivers. Today, I went to my cousin's christening down in Brooklyn. He (the child) is my first cousin once removed. His mother, my cousin, looked great! It was nice to see her, and other members of my family. Went shopping briefly afterward, and then got a nice long nap before indulging myself in Desperate Housewives. So mundane, yes, but I needed mundane. The rat race is so taxing. Here we are, striving for some greatness, to live some life less ordinary, and we (at least, I, anyway) find that we (I) need a bit of ordinary to maintain a measure of balance, sanity. I can't wait for Thanksgiving. I could use some time off.

Bicycling is dangerous. My uncle is partially deaf after nearly getting his ear taken off by a motorist while biking.
Be careful, Siryn!

I know, Phil. I normally don't go out after dark, and I usually try to ride on trails. It was a freak accident, I promise. :)

No....Yuengling? Was this a bar downstairs in Estonia? Surely there are no bars in the US that do not serve the sweet nectar that is Yuengling?
