Briefly Again

Because as my darling Sethro pointed out, I was suffering from ADHD when writing last night's entry and I forgot to tell you that I got some affirmation when I got my bonus check. They are very happy to have me and are impressed so far with me as a lawyer. I don't take compliments well, so to hear these kinds of things is extremely humbling. My ADHD didn't really go away today. As evidenced by this post...! The deposition wasn't bad, and went quite well without really wasting any time. Learned something new about the plaintiff's case, though, that might cause a lot of stuff to unravel. The intrigue never ends! I got a call today from a legal recruiter. I was so dumb, I had no idea what they wanted at first and was going to refer them to someone else. Haha! Apparently, they start calling once you're listed on Martindale-Hubbell's directory of attorneys. Another firm in similar practice area as us is looking for people, apparently. If I was a money whore, I would jump and interview - before bonuses, the salary is $12k more! That's an extra grand a month before taxes! But so far I haven't been terribly impressed with them when I've seen them on the opposite side of our cases. I am going to take care to learn my craft with this firm for a good while, because I know I'm working with quality attorneys and the money will come. We are still growing and getting more business. The opportunities will be there; I want to make sure I do things the right way. Plus, I don't want to seem like a flake on my résumé. I almost got to meet up with a new gym buddy I found using CL activity partners. Her membership was messed up, though, and needed to fix something - they messed up her passport membership and she wasn't able to use my gym location, although she should be able to. Woo, motivation! I need some of that. No headache, but I got an appearance tomorrow morning in the Circus (Brooklyn), and a conference later in the afternoon. Ciao, bellas.
