So I open up my browser and the home page says this:

pppbbbbpppbpbppbpbpbpbbbbttttt!!!!! Yeah, right. They had to play the VDay card. Spare me. I don't need the "stars" mocking me. I don't truly hate Valentine's Day. It's just that this placeholder day is hard to stomach when you are lonely. Especially if you just got out of a relationship, or the beginnings of one. All these holidays and remembrance months... yeah, they are a little cheesy - I mean, why do we need days like Mother's Day, Grandparents' Day, Secretaries' Day, Black History Month, ad nauseum? Because it is human nature to take people and things for granted, and we need someone or something to force us to pause and celebrate the good things we have in this life. So as much as the holidays/commemoration months suck, they serve a real purpose. They are shades of Thanksgiving, keeping the spirit of gratitude going because without them, very few of us would do any remembrance on our own.
